Additional info & updates

SMU and Fordham both strongly appeal to me in some way. (Alumni and current students who are friends, close to family, excellent reputation)

Arizona State, Cardozo, Houston and George Mason all fit my goals if my top choices are too much of a reach.

CUNY and Tulsa are my safety schools in case nothing else works out. I was originally deadset on CUNY but given that I would have zero job prospects outside of public interest, I just don't know enough about PI to go all in on that pursuit (unless I have no other choice).

Deny- Fordham, Arizona State
Weak Consider- SMU, Cardozo, Pepperdine, George Mason
Consider- Houston
Strong Consider- CUNY
Admit- Tulsa

30NOV2012- In at Tulsa with 18k per year scholarship maintaining 2.8 GPA. Waitlisted at Fordham. Fordham is one of my top 2 and thought I would get outright rejected, so it could be worse.

19DEC2012- In at University of Houston with in state tuition. Definitely something I will consider strongly as it will be free with the GI Bill. George Mason says they have sent my decision on status checker.

20DEC2012- In at SMU per the status checker. I don't think I can say no, unless Fordham accepts me soon. SMU really fits so many of my goals and sets me up well for working in Texas. Plus its free for me, with a generous living allowance.

10JAN2013 Finally back from Afghanistan so my cell phone works. Received a call from Cardozo saying they have accepted me with a 24k per year scholarship which is a full ride after the GI bill.

14JAN2013 In at Pepperdine, packet coming in the mail, they offer full rides to all eligible veterans (thats me) so another free ticket, Strangest thing happened, I got in to nearly every school I applied to but got flat rejected at CUNY. Odd.
