Extra Curricular Information

Took the LSAT three times (169/170/174). The 174 is from the test I took in February in the middle of the application cycle.

Very non-traditional background (fundamentalist religious upbringing/GED/started undergrad at 24).

I underperformed my numbers a bit, most likely due to the fact that my best LSAT score came very late in the game and I had a 4.12/170 for most of the cycle. I also think that the lack of post-grad work experience may have hurt me, particularly at Harvard.

Additional info & updates

I am posting my detailed cycle because LSN has been very helpful to me during the process. Please pay it forward by doing the same when your cycle is over.

School-Specific information:
____________

NYU:

Wrote AnBryce application essay

Notified of AnBryce finalist status on February 24.

Interviewed on April 9-10. A very fun and highly recommended experience. There were 35-40 finalists, and they generally select ten per year. This year they chose 12 people.

Accepted to AnBryce by phone.

Waitlisted; withdrew.
__________

Columbia:

I requested that they wait for my February retake, but they sent me an acceptance letter anyway. I tried to negotiate a named scholarship (Butler) but they wouldn't budge.

Since my parents refused to provide their financials for the Need Access, CLS offered me a fat $0 grant.
________

Harvard:

JS1 on December 12, I wasn't thrilled with my performance.

Waitlist on March 28

Withdrew after getting AnBryce
_________

Penn:

Wrote "Why Penn"

Radio silence until waitlist notification March 20

Withdrew in May after getting AnBryce
__________

UVA:

No "Why UVA"

Radio silence until I sent a LOCI on March 4. Got a request for a phone interview the day later, during which they tried to gauge my interest in actually attending UVA.

Got another call April 5th, again trying to gauge my interest. After I told him I was still interested, I was offered acceptance. Pretty shady stuff if you ask me.

Offered scholarship via phone a week later.
