Very strong recommendations - was told so by a couple of deans during notifications of acceptance.

Long volunteer history, employed during undergrad, was headed down the MD track, worked as a consultant after undergrad, interned with JD for the last year since leaving that job (freelancing to support myself during internship).

Additional info & updates

Can't say enough good things about the experience at L&C. Incredible faculty, gorgeous setting, fun city, super supportive (read: no torn pages from library books), waiver to visit campus for free (reimbursed up to $100). I found out that there are no GPA requirements tied to the Dean's Scholarships for 2015 matriculation, so don't hesitate. Awesome school!

5/1/14? Can't remember when, but Utah came back with full scholarship offer. Was tied to a fairly high GPA requirement. Declined the offer.

4/4/14 - L&C increased award, and it's really where I would rather end up, so that's where I will be depositing this week. Sending withdrawal to Denver... Woo hoo!

3/28/14 - Finished visits, really enjoyed Lewis & Clark and University of Denver. Disappointed with Colorado and Utah. Both felt a bit cold and UT felt 'weird'. Negotiating final merit aid with L&C and Denver. Pretty much between those two at this point, withdrawing from all other schools' acceptances today.

3/29/14 - Notified by UW that I did not get a merit award first round and that I would have to wait until May 1st before the committee would consider me again for aid...no thanks.

3/10/14 - Utah financial aid email received detailing offering. UW scholarship offer = still awaiting ...Planning to do school visits from 3/22 through 3/28. If not sold on top 5 choices, will continue visits in first week or two of April.

2/28/14- Received financial aid award via email and phone call from Hastings (separately). Still awaiting Utah and UW awards. Will update with info re: final scholarships, visit opinions for Admitted Days, and selections...

2/21/14 - Accepted to UC Hastings. Awaiting financial aid offers from UC Hastings, Utah, UW. Planning to schedule law school visits in the next week for admitted students days in March.

2/13/14 - Into all schools but UC Hastings. Expecting decision soon. All schools have offered merit scholarships as of today, with the exception of Hastings (no admissions decision yet), UW (submitted supplementary scholarship essay through portal), and Utah (all admitted students go through secondary scholarship review, was told to expect award offer 3/1/14).

2/12/14 - Declined admissions from MSU tonight, they wanted a video interview uploaded before formalizing their merit offer.
