Additional info & updates

Columbia/NYU responded with scholarships after being sent other schools' offers.

Duke increased their offer a week before the enrollment deadline. From $60,000 to $72,000

It is my opinion that the other schools responded to Northwestern's offer, without which I might not have received much $$$. I even sent NW's offer to Penn having not been accepted yet. Even at the time I thought that was cheeky and probably a little inappropriate. But thereafter they granted me admission and allowed me to apply for the Wilson scholarhsip.

I visited a few schools before they made a decision on my application and I tried to make certain the admissions office was aware of my visit. I was admitted at all these schools. Coincidence or not, you decide. Michigan admitted me while I was visiting. Classy.

The rankings reflect my preferences after I received scholarship offers.

Berkeley offered money but I had already decided not to go there. I believe it was for $10k the first year, not sure.

Virginia waived the fee a day after I applied and then would not reimburse. Petty.
