Additional info & updates

**NOTE ABOUT MONEY LISTED ABOVE**
All numbers listed are for all 3 years combined.

My numbers will seem a bit odd because I only list money at the middle-ish tier of schools.

At the top, I'm not including need-based financial aid, since it is actually need based and without knowing my financial situation will not help any of you.

At the bottom, I got invited to apply for special aid programs at a variety of schools (Michigan's Darrow, Duke's Mordecai, Cornell's Dean's Scholarship, Penn's Toll Scholars Program) and for general aid at Georgetown--I did not end up filling out any of these applications because I was really shooting for YHS (and I got into Harvard in December) and would otherwise have gone with UVA. Because I did not apply, I was not awarded anything at these schools. (Also note, I withdrew in general from many of these schools in January and February)

I did get aid at Northwestern, but I cannot figure out how much a few months later.
**END MONEY UPDATE**

All applications submitted as of 11/4. Now for the waiting game...

11/5: Not a very long wait. In at Duke via e-mail, priority track, accepted on the 10th day after I went complete.

11/14: In at Cornell via e-mail. Invited to write essay to apply for $50,000/yr. Dean's scholarship.

11/26: In at UVA w/ Dean's Scholarship ($135,000 in-state --> equivalent to $150,000 out-of-state). Things are getting VERY exciting!

11/28: Invited to apply for Mordecai scholarship at Duke!

11/29: In at Georgetown via snail mail--this is turning out to be a great week!

12/10: JS1 e-mail at Harvard and in at NYU! Fantastic day!

12/11: In at Michigan. Fantastic week!

12/14: Had my KB1 for Harvard!

12/17: Darrow invitation!

12/19: In at Northwestern!

12/20: In at Penn!

12/21: IN AT HARVARD!!! JS2!!!

1/14: Withdrew from Michigan.

1/22: In at Stanford via e-mail/phone! Now I have no idea what to do, but it's definitely a great problem to have!

1/24: Interview request from Chicago.

1/28: Admitted to Columbia with half tuition Butler scholarship. Another fantastic choice--feeling both blessed and conflicted!

2/4: Withdrew from Duke. Interviewed with Chicago.

2/15: Accepted at Chicago!

August 2013 Consolidated Update:

Well, I kind of fell off the wagon with posting up there. Suffice it to say, I got in everywhere but Yale, where I was waitlisted and eventually withdrew.

I got money from Northwestern (a lot--though I cannot for the life of me find the number now) and Chicago (not a lot), but I withdrew from everywhere except Harvard, Yale, Stanford, and UVA in January/February/March.

I went to admitted student weekends and withdrew from UVA and eventually Stanford, and I am a very happy member of the HLS class of 2016.

I will try to answer questions posted here, but I probably won't be checking back often.

If you are reading this at the start of your cycle, good luck with everything, and make sure to apply early!

When did you withdraw from GULC? Just wondering if there's a chance I could be taken off WL. Thanks!

Do you remember when most of your fee waivers came in? I'm wondering if I should wait a little on my applications.
