12/16 - IN AT BERKELEY BY EMAIL! Shocked!

1/05 - In at Emory via big packet. Scholarship info in February.

1/07 - Vanderbilt decision mailed.
1/11 - Waitlisted at Vanderbilt. I really liked the school but I can't be too upset after Berkeley... Oh well.

1/14 - In at WUSTL by email. Exciting, but would need money.

1/17 - In at Michigan! Very impressed with the acceptance packet and flash drive. 2-0 in the top ten!

1/22 - In at GW.

2/02 - Acceptance voice-mail from BU.
Also, decided to pay 87 dollars for a Yale rejection letter... Ha.

2/10 - Rejection from Texas...hmm...

2/13 - Reserve at Columbia. I'm already sick of waiting and now I get wait lists...

2/19 - Wait list at Penn via email. Probably wouldn't have went there over Berkeley anyway. I'm just glad to get a decision.

2/26 - Rejected at Georgetown and a (unconvincing) scholarship at WUSTL this week. Meh.

3/2 - UCLA. Got the call from Dean Schwartz.

3/11 - Wait list e-mail from Virginia. Will probably withdraw.

3/17 - $75,000 from UCLA! Time to make some withdrawals.

3/27 - Rejected at NYU. I wish the rest would hurry up, but with better news.

4/02 - Wait listed at Duke; only waiting on the big three now.

4/20 - Bloodbath over the weekend. Yale and Standford rejections on the same day, then Harvard wait list the next. I'll ride it out, even though it means nothing really.

4/22 - I successfully bluffed Berkeley into giving me way more money than they should have. Pretty much know where I'll be in the fall.

4/27 - Well, negotiating definitely works. Michigan matched Berkeley... It would take more than that for me to endure three Ann Arbor winters though.

4/30 - Withdrew from Michigan. Very tough.

5/7 - Well, It's official; I am going to Berkeley. I had to withdraw from all wait lists to accept my scholarship today. Goodbye Harvard... But still, I am very happy with how everything turned out and can't wait to move to Berkeley.

Our numbers are exactly the same and we are both URMS....apply to more T14 schools!! You have a great chance.
