Scholar ship is total amount offered for the 3 years I'll be in school. I am assuming Penn's offer was need based mostly!

Withdrew from all other schools

9/4 - Sent out Cornell app a day after it opened. All my other apps have been sent within a week of applications opening up. I am hoping this gives me some what of a boost. We'll see what happens, I hear that we should expect good things for splitters but I'm still a little nervous. Wish I could have earned a few extra points on the LSAT

Interviewed with NU addcom. Enjoyable interview, very casual. Exactly what I head heard and read to expect.

Interviewed with an Alumnus from Georgetown. The guy was awesome and really did a good job selling Georgetown.

11/20 E-mail from BU saying my App is under review and I should expect an answer soon

11/27 Rejected from Cornell. Sad wasn't really set on Cornell but I wasn't expecting to get dinged right off the bat.

11/3 just received my acceptance letter in the mail. GULC is becoming more and more appealing it is still just way too expensive.

12/6 Received an invite to do a phone interview with Dean Post. Was surprised since I had never heard of this before. I know of at least one other person who had the the interview (ED as well)

12/7 Had the interview with Dean Post. Immediate reaction: Couldn't get a read from Dean Post on how they were feeling about my application. Asked why law right now, why do I want to move to Penn, how do I plan to participate in on campus activities. To be honest I thought I did poorly seeing as how Dean Post was mostly neutral in her reaction to my answers.

12/8 ACCEPTED TO UPENN!!!!! I couldn't believe it. Especially after the interview. I cant wait to go to Philly. UPenn is seriously my number 1 by far.

1/14 Accepted into BYU. I don't really understand since I emailed them asking to withdraw my application. But oh well I guess it provides an extra data point for LSN.

As a side note I was accepted into GW on the same day Via E-mail but I am withdrawing my applications from all other schools and taking my talents to PHILLY!!!

Good luck everyone else on your cycles!!

1/14 Accepted into BYU. I don't really understand since I emailed them asking to withdraw my application.

2/25 Just received an e-mail linking me to UPenn's aid decision. 50,000$ need based over the next three years! This is way more than I had expected.

Thanks hope. Yeah I think what stood out was my why Penn essay. I really like the interdisciplinary emphasis of UPenn. They really are just a solid school across all of their graduate programs. Other than that I cant really say what might have stood out. Median LSAT 170 but below 25% GPA 3.2 I was expecting WL at best. Good luck!

Taro I withdrew my other apps once I got Penn ED! Your numbers seem competitive so I would say you shouldn't worry much!

Hope the FOB is treating you well ;) Are there a lot of people from the department headed to law school this year?

Thursday, May 03 2012 at 08:00 PM

@hohenheim haha the FOB is as ugly as ever. I always wonder if BYU will ever pony up and get the Econ department a real building. From what I can tell there are a handful. I personally know 3 other Econ majors and I am sure there are a few others.

Congrats on Penn, thanks for withdrawling from WUSTL (it's my #1). Good luck!

byu scholarship
Thursday, January 31 2013 at 07:00 PM

did you really get a scholarship to byu? i thought you need to have at least a 236 index number in order to be considered for a scholarship there. have they changed their requirements?

Thursday, May 03 2012 at 08:00 PM

@zcngawaka Yep I really did. I don't know why but it was offered in my acceptance letter.
