I haven't bothered to apply to any safe schools (eg: Fordham). I think I have a roughly 40% chance of being rejected from all schools--if this happens I will wait another year and try again/apply to lower ranked schools.
- MisterDurdenFigured I'd say hello cause we have a lot of overlap. Good luck this semester - you're going to get into one of those schools!
- antaresviI'm glad you didn't apply to ALL of the same schools as me ;). As it stands we're direct competitors at Penn and Columbia (though I suspect there is a decent chance that both of us will be rejected by both institutions).
- MisterDurdenReceived fee waiver from Penn today--1 week after I submitted my application.
- MisterDurdenWe've gotta stick together. Good luck with the cycle.
- dadricBest of luck to you. I also was employed during UG, hopefully that brings some grace.
- ProfessorDentGood luck, fellow splitter! How did you come up with 40%? I tried your approach last year, so this time I widened the net a little. Okay, a lot.
- jnb983Yeah--I would be fine with another year of WE, otherwise I'd have applied to all of the t14. 40% is a rough, conservative estimate based on previous years stats and an assumption of substantial covariance.
- MisterDurdenThanks, and you too!
- antaresviSeem your assumptions proved correct...congrats on NYU!!!
