Extra Curricular Information

Been in grad school for music for the past 5 years (MA, musicology; leaving PhD program after this semester). Lots of teaching experience both as a private music teacher and in classrooms, plus excellent grades in both grad programs (MA 4.0; PhD 3.94). Leader in two on-campus organizations and multiple fellowships, writing awards, and grants.

Additional info & updates

Heard from Southwestern first -- they are now recruiting me for their 2-year program, which is attractive, considering I have been in grad school for 5 years

Phone call from Chapman about one week later -- offered full ride

Pepperdine emailed a few days after that -- $28,000 scholarship per year, contigent upon keeping grades

Email from USC last night (1/27) -- wasn't expecting any money from them and haven't heard about that

Loyola (1/29) -- after dealing with numerous debacles involving my apt complex, the post office, and icy Austin streets, I finally received my coveted Loyola acceptance. The scholarship is contingent upon maintaining a 3.2 GPA and Loyola is my top choice.

UCLA -- still waiting. Would be surprised if I received admission.

Berkeley (1/31) -- applied b/c my dad went crazy and asked me to. They have the most courteous "in review" email I have ever received.

Stanford (2/2) -- also applied b/c my dad went crazy and asked me to. Would be surprised if I was admitted.

When did you go complete? Is this your top choice? Great school!

Please withdraw your application from Pepperdine if you're planning on attending another school! A lot of us that are on the waitlist are counting on people like you who might commit to another school to withdraw! Thank you!
