153 LSAT, non-URM....how did Emory accept you?

My personal statement talks about why I only got 3.7's or so my first two years in school due to major family issues and how I've gotten 4.0's since. I spent weeks on it and they seemed to really like it. I also worked at a law firm part-time since my junior year (full- time this past summer).

Is that all the involvement you have? Are you in Georgia or anywhere in the area? I would love to apply at Emory and we have similar stats, but I don't have a waiver and it would seem like a waste of money for me to drop $100 for not even getting a scholarship. But CONGRATS!!

In addition to the work experience, I'm an RA, President of a few clubs, involved in a bunch of others, won a handful of awards, and I'm guessing my LORs are decent. I'm from Ohio so not exactly in the neighborhood. Thanks for the congrats and best of luck on your cycle!
