Additional info & updates

Offered an interview into ONU's Summer Starter Program.

3/03/2017 - Rejected at Loyola Chicago. Feeling very positive about the rest of the cycle however.

3/12/17 - Rejected at Boston U; however, waitlisted at Hofstra and accepted into Loyola New Orleans Law...moving in the right direction. Positive reaffirmation.

3/16/17 - Rejected at Iowa Law. This one hurts. Two of my relatives graduated from Iowa Law and I interned for a judge over the summer who also graduated from the law school. I am going to assume it is my LSAT score that held me back. I'm still staying positive about Wash U.

3/29/17 - Waitlisted at DePaul. Better than a no. My grand-aunt and my great-grandfather (first black to graduate from DePaul with MBA/JD) both graduated from the law school. Hopefully the family ties will propel me in the school.

4/5/17 - Rejected at Wash U. Tough. I knew it was a long shot. Really considering re-taking the LSAT in June. Made the decision to attend law school late in the game (also during basketball season) so I could not adequately study. Score is definitely not indicative of my actual academic prowess.

6/23/17 - Pulled off the waitlist at DePaul Law. That's where I'm going! Stay positive amidst adversity and everything will fall into place!

Pardon if I'm stating the obvious, but I trust you completely laid out that fact about your great-grandfather? What an incredible accomplishment! Maybe a swift LOCI is in order, really stressing the family ties here as a huge footstep motivator for you to follow.

Family Ties

Oh most definitely. This is why I was so stunned that I was not granted an immediate acceptance. Yes, but I am in the process of completing a LOCI exemplifying my family's accomplishments and ties to DePaul.
