Hey congrats on vandy! I've had fairly similar results to you so far. I was wondering if georgetown had you interview?

Hi bbrown31, Thank you for the congrats on Vanderbilt, I was very excited about that acceptance. I looked at your page, we definitely have had similar results. Georgetown did have me interview. It has been so long ago that I can't even remember when, it was before Thanksgiving though. I see that you had your interview not that long ago, I hope it went well! Any thoughts on Vandy? It is easily my number one choice right now and barring any miraculous event I will be attending. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions I can help with.

Yeah the interview did go well! I'm not expecting to get in or anything, but I thought I made a good impression. And I was also excited about Vanderbilt, realistically it will be the best place I'm admitted so I'm seriously considering it. What do you think about it's location? Though it definitely has some national weight, since it's not a T-14 I'm a little bit concerned about the effectiveness of a Vanderbilt JD in other parts of the country.

I'm glad to hear that your interview went well, I hope you have better luck than I with admission. The location for Vanderbilt is one of the things I most like about the school. I know that some people, depending what they are accustomed to, might not have Nashville at the top of their destination list but it is a great spot for my wife and me. I have some of your same concerns. It is a great school but it doesn't have the same placement as some of the schools ranked above it. It looks like it does an alright job placing in some of the bigger markets and in Tennessee. I think the school carries a lot of respect around the country and assuming that you do well in school I think it will put a graduate in a good spot to get a good job after graduation (at least that's what I tell myself). Are you planning on attending either of the ASPs? I think I am going to attend the one at the beginning of April.

Yeah I think you're right, it's just so hard to tell when we're so far removed from the legal job market. And I'm also planning on attending the ASP in early April, maybe I'll see you there! haha Oh today I just got an email from UT inviting me to submit a "Why UT?" essay before they send my app to final review. Have you received anything like this?

Tuesday, April 30 2013 at 01:12 AM

Yes, maybe I will see you there. I'll write "T+3" on my name tag when I'm there, haha just kidding. I wouldn't give up my internet anonymity that easy for Vanderbilt to figure out who I am. I didn't apply to UT and I haven't had any other school ask for something like that though I think I have heard of some schools asking for something similar. UT is a great school and Austin is an awesome city. Is UT one of your top choices?

Hey! Congrats on your cycle thus far! I wanted to chime in on Vandy- I have a family friend who graduated Vandy in the 1990s and he's now a partner at a large firm in Los Angeles! You can take that Vandy degree anywhere and so long as you have the charisma, smarts and work ethic to back it up, you're good!

Thanks for your input, CagedBird, that's makes me feel a little better haha. And T+3, yeah UT is definitely one of my top choices, though I have no idea what to write for this essay.
