Additional info & updates

Since graduation, I have worked as a legislative assistant for a state representative. The job has provided me with an opportunity to see first hand how laws are created and upheld.

1/9: Accepted at Washington and Lee. Scholarships to come at later time.

1/16: Accepted at Wake Forest with full tuition scholarship. Things just got interesting.

1/21: Received a letter from Washington and Lee. $35k a year. It is my favorite school, so I am hoping to convince them to fork up a little more to make it a full tuition. That would likely seal the deal for me.

2/3: Received a letter from UNLV. Accepted with a full tuition scholarship. UNLV is an excellent school, and I have no doubt it will continue to climb in the rankings, but I don't think I'll go there at this point.

2/6: I had a Skype interview with the Dean of Admissions at BYU, and I was accepted with a half tuition scholarship. BYU is an incredible school, but I do worry about their retention requirements. It will be very stressful staying in the top 3rd of the class at BYU-- which is full of geniuses.

3/4: I have officially heard back from everyone now. William and Mary contacted me and offered me in-state tuition as well as a $15k/year scholarship and $4k/year fellowship. Although William and Mary is an impressive school, it quickly moved out of contention with that move. MSU contacted me and offered me a full-tuition scholarship. I honestly think that MSU is an up-and-coming school, but I doubt I will go there. University of Arizona contacted me on 2/28 to inform me that I had received a full-tuition scholarship offer. Arizona definitely put itself at the top of my list with that offer.

3/27: Washington and Lee and William and Mary both contacted me today with an increase to my scholarship offers. I had sent each of them petitions. W&L increased it to 40k per year, and W&M increased it to 17k per year in addition to the 4k fellowship.
