UnionMan (2017-2018)

Nothing too crazy. Headed a social justice club in undergrad, worked for 3 years during undergrad with an org on campus dealing with conflict resolution. Did a summer semester in DC with a college, taking classes alongside a social justice internship in the city. Also did a brief nontraditional study abroad experience. Volunteer service for my local religious group, did an undergraduate thesis. Honors student. Other minor things here and there but thats about it.

Had terrific letters of recommendation.

11/13/17 - sent out all apps with the exception of Yale. Intend to send it out this week.

*Note 1 - solicited merit-based fee waivers from any school that did not automatically give them to me through CRS except for HYS. Only Columbia and Chicago did not give me one.
*Note 2 - Duke priority track, should get decision within 10 days, though might be week after Thanksgiving since they take a break as well.
*Note 3 - Did not write any "Why X" essays, however I did write and submit one for Virginia around mid-January.
*Note 4 - Stanford originally did not mark my application complete upon believing there was another transcript I hadn't submitted. Resolved the issue a little later, but my completion date was delayed and thus much later than my other apps.
*Note 5 - Had issues with Northwestern and not receiving any of their emails. Had the issue sorted out around Jan. 21st, and they told me my application was received 11/16, and provided me the ability to check my app status and request an interview.

11/22/17 - Accepted to Duke, notified by email.

12/01/17 - Invited to alumni interview for Georgetown. Also received email from Texas for interview via Kira.

12/04/17 - Completed Texas interview over Kira

1/11/18 - Invite from Cornell for interview via Kira
1/11/18 - Accepted to Georgetown, notified by snail mail, letter postmarked Jan. 8th.

1/12/18 - Accepted to Texas, notified by phone

1/26/18 - Dean's Presidential Scholarship at Texas, 20k a year with a non-resident tuition exemption. Total of around 110k.

2/9/18 - Waitlisted at Northwestern, notified by email.

2/11/18 - Declined the waitlist at Northwestern and withdrew my application.

2/15/18 - Accepted to UChicago, notified by email

2/16/18 - Waitlisted at Michigan, notified by email

2/23/18 - Duke Dean's Scholarship at Duke. 40k a year, total of 120k

2/26/18 - Accepted to Cornell, notified by phone

2/27/18 - Dean's Award Scholarship at NYU, total of 90k (reduced to 78k if 2L summer earnings more than 15k).

3/1/18 - Cornell scholarship offer, 105k total

3/3/18 - Vanderbilt Chancellor scholarship, total of around 120k.

3/6/18 - Georgetown scholarship, total of 105k

3/12/18 - "Leadership" stipend of 5k from Vandy. Brings their total to about 125k.
3/12/18 - Withdrew from Vanderbilt & Texas

3/14/18 - Chicago scholarship, total of 45k

3/22/18 - Waitlisted at Virginia, will withdraw from UVA and Michigan today

3/26/18 - Waitlisted at Harvard, will ride it out

4/04/18 - Withdrew from Georgetown
