Georgetown: "Applicants on the Preferred Waiting List are among those we would like to include in our first year class. These applicants have the strongest credentials of all waiting list candidates and, as a result, receive priority consideration if spaces become available. Cornell: "Our Admissions Committee has reviewed your application and has placed your name on reserve... Our several-hundred-person reserve group (of which you are now a part) helps us keep in line with... target levels. Then, later in the season after we've begun to hear back from people already accepted (usually by mid-to-late May), we decide if further offers are appropriate. However, since we anticipate some vacancies becoming available during the summer, we are continuing to hold your application in our Reserve group... This list consists of a group of strong candidates for whom there currently is no space available in our entering class. Openings can occur at any time during the summer, including late August.
