Additional info & updates

I put more weight on geographic preference, quality of life and scholarship money than prestige alone.

3+ years full-time work experience in environmental consulting. Just got back from traveling around the world.

Not sure what happened with Northwestern. I did the Why NW essay with complete sincerity, thought the interview went well and have lots of work experience. I'm not that broken up, though.

With your WE, I thought they would be the first one to accept... did you not interview?

Congrats on the big Vanderbilt $$$$!

When did you hear about it?

Hey, sorry - haven't checked my comment

Thanks to all... partyguy, you are right - I am pretty skeptical about rankings. Just want the school that can do the best for my own career goals. I did interview at NW, though during the last application cycle (prior to leaving to travel). The student who interviewed me seemed hungover - maybe he did a shoddy job on the paperwork (or maybe I didn't do all that well!). I heard about the Vandy money about 3 weeks ago. I am visiting the school for their admitted students day - we'll see... So, where I am going is completely up in the air... I keep feeling drawn to Penn, though...

ya penn!

it's reassuring to see someone else who can appreciate more than the rankings - see you at penn in the fall!
