Okay so I completed my applications about 2 weeks ago, and it's been pretty good. STCL, accepted over email. St Mary's, accepted through a letter along with a scholarship offer. Baylor, accepted over the phone, and still waiting for a letter with more information. Texas tech, accepted over email, followed by another email with a scholarship offer. University of Washington rejected my application over email, but they were very nice about it. So that is five down five to go. I'm excited to see how it will turn out.

BYU Interview
Saturday, January 05 2013 at 07:00 PM

So last week on Wednesday March 20th I was asked if I could meet with Dean Hernandez from BYU Law. My first reaction was that I mess up something on my application and they are going to call to confirm that I am an Idiot. Obviously that was a ridiculous reaction, so I altered my perspective and realized it is good news. I believe it means that they are still considering my application. Considering is better than being thrown out right away. So today I have my Interview, and I am both nervous and excited. So if you are reading this I will let you know how it goes.

The interview with Dean Hernandez went really well. At the end of the Interview he announce that I had been accepted to BYU Law. If anyone is wondering how this is possible considering I received a 156 on my LSAT, I believe it is because BYU law looks at the total package. Dean Hernandez mentioned he really enjoyed my personal statement and the story I told was funny, interesting, and showed that could bring a unique perspective to BYU Law. Whatever the reason or reasons, I am overly excited about this acceptance, and I can't stop smiling about it.

you are awesome!

Congrats! I mess up on my LSAT(under 160) and really want to do it again, but I need to prepare for the worst result. Your experiences give me a lot of strength! Would you mind share your personal story which was unique and interesting?

Personal statement

Thank you for your support. The interesting story revolved around my international roommate and I. Throughout our time together, I believed we were friends because we hung out all the time and got along, however, in her definition of the word Friend we were not friends, we were roommates. The story continues to explain how I was able to become her friend in her definition of the word, and then I tied it into to law. I know it seems like a simple and even silly story to tell to get into law school. I remember writing it and debating if it was the right way to go. Ultimately, I chose this story because it demonstrated all the characteristics I wanted the law schools to notice. Schools have commented that have a heart for service, and that I will contribute essential cross cultural understanding to their class. Those comments referred to my personal statement, and let me know I was able to construct my statement in a way that conveyed these characteristics. I hope everything goes well for you Doom, and I hope this post will help you help you in the application process.
