Extra Curricular Information

I'm in my late 20's so I have a really solid work history with a couple steps up the corporate ladder. Other than that my softs leave something to be desired.

I am married with kids so location is a big factor for me as I can't just pick up and move anywhere, this is why I'm not applying to more schools despite numbers that are good enough to merit consideration at some mid tier one schools. I am really hoping to get in at either Northwestern or WASHU, it will be a little bit of a letdown if I don't get accepted to one of them even though there's a strong chance that will happen. Don't want to get to specific on my profile but if you have any questions ask away and I'll be glad to accommodate.

Additional info & updates

Scholorship amounts are for three years

9/10: Every school so far has given me a fee waiver no questions asked just by calling the admission office which is a pleasant surprise.

10/31: Accepted at University of Arkansas via snail mail. Feels great to have an acceptance under my belt. I'm officially going to law school.

12/19: Interview request from WASHU. Exciting!

12/20: In at UALR via nice call from Assistant Dean Finney. Said my packet with scholorship info should be mailed the first week of January.

1/3: Very pleasant phone interview with WASHU followed by acceptance e-mail a couple hours later!!! Could not be more excited about this! Can't attend with no scholorship but this is my dream school.

1/7: My packet arrived from UALR in the mail today. William H. Bowen scholorship which is full tuition with 50% stip! I had all but written UALR off but this puts them back in the mix.

1/10: In at SLU! I am interested in this school a lot but scholorship offer was only for 30K total. Going to have to come up for me to attend.

1/31: In at Chicago-Kent via e-mail.

2/21: WL'd at NU. Great news. I thought I would be an auto reject for sure.

2/24: My cycle is going so much better than I expected that I decided to throw out some late hail mary apps for fun.

4/2: Haven't been updating, trying to maintain some anonymity. Rejected at the big H, pretty easy to see that coming. WL'd at Cornell which is nice but it's to far away and I would never go 200+K in debt to go to LS anyway. Visited several schools and withdrew from all but three. Getting down to the wire now. Also solicited scholarship bumps from two of my top three and was given very small bumps at both. Disappointing.

Arkansas scholarship is for 1L year only if I'm understanding correctly.

4/16: Arkansas doubled scholarship, basically covers all first year tuition. Not renewable for subsequent years though.

6/2: SLU and WASHU both increased offers fairly substantially in late May. Made it a no brainer for me. I will be attending WASHU in the fall.

Good luck on getting in Northwestern. I applied there as well. Although, for me, it would be a long shot. You have a stronger LSAT score than I do, so I hope you are able to pull it off.

Thanks

Thanks thefatkid77 good luck to you as well. I'm not holding my breath though, all the predictors say I don't have much of a chance. Good luck with your cycle.

Congrats on WashU. I'm likely applying to a lot of places that you did--for the regional consideration, too. Glad to see some tips and strategies. Good luck!

Thanks iguazu! Good luck with your cycle, I assume you will be applying in the fall? Let me know if there is anything about any of the schools I applied to that I can answer for you or just any questions in general. I would be glad to help in any way that I can.
