Hi, are your numbers genuine? At face value, it's hard to believe that you would be waitlisted multiple times with such stats

Yep

The numbers are indeed genuine. I've been a little surprised as well, but I suppose it goes to show that what the schools say is true, and raw numbers aren't everything... I'm taking it in stride and trying not to overthink it. Perhaps I could have done better with a stronger personal essay, etc. but I've been delaying making decisions until all the information is in.

I hope it all worked out for you. These schools are out of their minds for not accepting you (let alone provide money) - - though bear in mind the paradox/conundrum that = they all want high "yields" and if they think a candidate will accept an offer from Yale, etc., they reject you. Brutal and assinine.

Thanks for the well wishes @lawyersaregood. In my view things have worked out quite well. Berkeley came through with a nice chunk of scholarship change after I wrote them a reconsideration request; they were my first choice all along, and so I'm going! The other schools obviously would have been nice to get into, but there are many factors in my decision beyond the bare rankings
