People say softs don't matter, but I think they got me in. My work experience abroad was for a well known and respected organization, I performed well in my master's program (which was at a great school), and I wrote what I think was an excellent and targeted statement. There were other things as well, but you'll understand that I prefer not to be too specific.
Wow it would be really helpful to know what was in your application that got you into USC and UCLA with a lower gpa like mine.
