Additional info & updates

***Note - scholarship $ is given as a three-year total.

10/27/09 - Transcripts received at the LSAC, getting the forms to my LOR writers, and personal statement & resume nearly completed. Plan on starting the application process sometime in early November.

11/1/09 - Numbers given under 'choice' are the numerical rankings of the schools according to top-law-schools.com. I'll be sending in my applications starting this week at all of the fee-waiver schools (UM-N, Duke, UCLA) and my top three choices otherwise (G-Town, Cornell, and UVA), and will apply to the others as I get enough money to do so. Wish me a good cycle!

11/12/09 - Applications are out to Duke, U-Minnesota Twin Cities, Cornell, and UCLA, awating the confirmation of my second LOR for my file to be complete. Received a packet from U-Mich Ann Arbor today with a fee waiver & viewbook. Let's hope these fee waivers portend a good cycle...!

11/14/09 - Sent out a slew of applications today -- U-Mich Ann Arbor, U of Virginia, Georgetown, U - Illinois, U - Indiana Bloomington, and College of William and Mary.

11/17/09 - Application complete at Georgetown, Duke, UMN, and Virginia.

12/14/09 - Received the admission packet from W&M with scholarship information.

12/21/09 - In the process of getting a 3rd LOR (as of yet I don't have any from the department of my major, and I'm getting anxious that some schools may think this is an issue) and sending in updated transcripts. Straight A's, and GPA rose from 3.82 to 3.84 -- not much movement, there, but it can't hurt, right?

2/27/09 - A lot of activity in the last two months. Awesome scholarships from UIUC and U Indiana - Bloomington. Decided to apply to Vandy, and got accepted a few weeks later. Waitlists from Virginia, Georgetown, and Michigan (and waiting for once from duke!). Accepted at USC, UCLA, and Cornell, as well, and finishing the required financial aid paperwork to see if I'll get any scholarships from those schools.

Cornell is definitely my number one choice, but I don't know if I can manage to pay sticker price, so let's hope for some scholarships/grants!

You've inspired me to apply to Vanderbilt so late in the game--almost identical numbers, so hopefully they will like me and give me some scholarship money to leverage!
