Extra Curricular Information

Terrible grades due to the fact that I was a heroin addict for most of my college career. Dropped out of school multiple times, not withdrawing, and getting Fs for the semester.

I know people do not recommend telling law schools about previous addiction history, but with grades like these, I have to so something.

After dropping out of college for close to 7 years, I returned to finish up my degree. I just graduated in June. I've been in recovery for 4 years, and have spent much of that time working in exceptional education as a teachers aide.

Additional info & updates

I took the Kaplan prep class, and I jumped from a 146 diagnostic to pting in the upper 150s. I messed up on test day, completely missing a game, and got that 154. I'm self studying for June, and am now testing right around 163.

You may notice that most of the schools I am applying to are Catholic. I was raised Catholic, and my dad is a deacon, so I'm hoping that it is enough of a soft to help sway the decision. Obviously, Loyola didn't care too much.

I think it's impressive your owning the heroin issue and think that it could play in your favor at some schools to show what you have overcome.

Congrats. Will you be attending a law school this fall, or any plans to retake the LSAT?
