Extra Curricular Information

Weak extracurriculuars while in undergrad. Nothing outside of club sports and one part time job for a year. I was not motivated in college, hence the weak GPA. Had 3 years as a neurobiology major in which my GPA was significantly higher (don't ask what happened, I don't have an explanation) then tanked my last two years in history. I have a strong negative trend in my grades, which SUCKS. Have matured significantly in the two years since with various jobs and am now teaching for 6 months in South America.

I believe my PS was strong, concerning my diverse past (e.g. living in three different countries as a kid, my fluency in spanish, and my current experience working in South America). I also included a description of my experience working in the state senate and how that helped forge my desire to attend law school.

No convictions but I was arrested once and served a citation another time. Both were dropped, so I didn't have to mention them to every school but I had to include it for a few (stupid southern schools requiring you to list every time you've even been suspected of anything).

Additional info & updates

Sorry I didn't create this page sooner! I just got around to doing it. Hope my small data point helps.

Cycle has been strange - I'm interested to see how other non-URM hispanics are doing.

Note: I didn't put the application received/completed status info up because it would seriously be a huge pain at this point to have to back over a month in my e-mails and update them. I applied to half the school on the 9th of January, the other half on the 10th, excepting Columbia and WUSTL to which I applied really late and only because they sent out fee waivers late-cycle.

Not sure what to think about getting waitlisted at Penn State and Wake. I thought I had a good shot at Wake and Penn State was a safety. Funny how things work out! I'll do a law school predictor vs. reality update soon but basically it told me I wouldn't get in anywhere.
