Additional info & updates

Classic Late Applicant

1/23/07 - Letter in Mail from Pepperdine
1/29/07 - Call from Pepperdine - in runnings for $$
2/19/07 - Big manilla envelope in the mail from NYU - in at NYU
2/22/07 - Call from GW Dean - in at GW
2/22/07 - Call from Dean Schwartz at UCLA - in at UCLA
3/1/07 - UCLA email - Dean's Scholarship offer :)
3/2/07 - Waitlist at Michigan - will probably withdraw.
3/8/07 - Email from Northwestern - in at NW
3/8/07 - Small envelope from USC - in at USC
3/8/07 - Call from Pepperdine - got the $$! :)
3/8/07 - Harvard finally went complete after nearly 6 weeks of processing time...at least it's on its way...
3/14/07 - finally complete at Cornell; Georgetown status check says decision! just waiting now...
3/16/07 - in at Georgetown :)
3/21/07 - email in at Columbia (and not too soon either, as we're planning a trip out to the CLS/NYU admitted student days for next week...)
4/1/07 - Returned from NYU/CLS admitted student days to find a rejection from Berkeley (a little random, but pretty okay, as I'd basically ruled it out already) and a request for an interview prior to decision at Cornell. Since I'm basically deciding from the pool I've already found out on, the only remaining letter I'm waiting for will be from Harvard... betting it's a no, but still curious.

It looks like all of us who went complete on 3/8 haven't heard anything from Harvard, good or bad. If you look at the batch of 3/8 completes from last year... it's pretty disheartening. :( What do you think took so long for us to go complete? There seems to be many applicants who applied at the same time/after us and went complete weeks before us.

Just curious...

Why did you choose UCLA over Columbia and NYU? Is it just the scholarship or something more?
