Additional info & updates

1. I got a letter from William and Mary today to say I got in. They also told me I was selected for a Graduate Fellowship if I attend. It's worth about $15,000, but extra work comes with it. Like library work and then research assistance. They also gave me an additional $5,000. It's nice to know at least I got in somewhere.

2. An Admissions Assistant from Tennessee called me this morning to let me know a letter of acceptance is on its way. While Tennessee it obviously the lowest ranked school I applied to, it's still on my consideration list for various reasons. But I'm still praying to get into other places. And with a good offer at William and Mary, UT would be hard to accept, considering I don't necessarily want to remain in Tennessee my whole life.

3. I received an email from Virginia last night that told me I was waitlisted. I'm actually not that disappointed because I didn't really expect to get in there. I was prepared to get rejected. I plan on waiting it out until I hear back from more schools. I really hope I get good news from Vanderbilt or Duke.

4. I received a letter from Washington and Lee. It was so small that I thought it looked like bad news, but it wasn't. They accepted me, but they aren't giving out any more scholarships until after April 15 (and, therefore, extending their own deadline to accept). However, that turns me off because I still have to tell everyone else by April 15. Why would I accept their offer not knowing what kind of money I would get, while William and Mary has given me a good offer?

5. Duke emailed me to offer me a spot on the waitlist for the summer JD/MA program. I applied for the JD/MA in English program. They only accept about 40-45 people, so I would assume the waitlist is smaller, but it is probably very competitive. At least those people have to confirm by April 4, though.

6. I received a letter from George Washington asking me to be on the waitlist. I'm not sure what I'll say yet just because I was a little upset. GWU is only number 20, and I have the stats to get in, so I don't understand. Plus, I'm already waitlisted for Virginia and Duke. This makes me very nervous for my Vanderbilt decision.

7. Waitlisted at American. WTF?!

8. I received an email from Washington Law in St. Louis letting me know I was accepted. I was happy, but I just don't think I'll go there unless I had a scholarship.

9. I received a letter from Vanderbilt asking me to be on the waitlist. I was disappointed but expecting it. When I sent it my confirmation, I added an LOCI. I hope I get in.

10. Fordham sent me an email today notifying me of my acceptance and the fact that mail was headed my way. As much fun as I bet it would be to be on the Upper West Side, I just don't know that I want to be so far away from home and to pay so much for housing.
