Additional info & updates

-I didn't know about LSN when I started this process and wish I had. The admissions process can be very intimidating and the books on the subject often don't give realistic scenarios. I'm hoping that potential applicants in future cycles see that law schools do in fact consider a range of people with a range of numbers. Ultimately, if you're considering applying to law school, don't let the numbers game get you down.

APPLICATION NOTES (in no particular order)

-Did all suplemental essays for all schools

-Submitted 3 letters of recommendation (2 academic, 1 employer) to every school except for Georgetown and NYU (they got 2- 1 academic, 1 employer)

-Harvard and Cornell took a relatively long time to process my application and deem it "complete".

-Harvard, Columbia, and Chicago initially put me on administrative hold. I sent follow-up letters to Harvard and Columbia, both of which eventually admitted me. For various reasons, I did not send a follow-up letter to Chicago. As expected, they rejected me.

-Harvard interviewed me twice by phone (that does NOT include the call notifying me of my admission).

-UVA, Penn, and Harvard notified me by phone; Northwestern and Columbia by E-mail; Georgetown, NYU, and Cornell by mail.
-Echoing others who have posted on envelope size,
Georgetown's was small, NYU's was large, Cornell's was
medium-sized. I actually thought Georgetown had
rejected me until I openned the letter.

-Northwestern offered me a scholarship and UVA offered roughly the same amount (relative to cost) in grant aid, although I would rather not disclose the amount.

Congrats on all your acceptances. What type of information did you include in your follow-up letters? You may email me at jjfajardo@aol.com if you do not wish to share on your site, or mine.

I talked about the work I'd done since college, since the application questions tended to focus on my college career. I also did a little research on each school and talked about programs that were of particular interest to me.

And Thanks everyone

Hello. I want to first say congrats on admission into Harvard. I want to ask where you went to college and who wrote your letters of recommendation? Also i was wondering what you thought was your biggest aid into harvard? I thank you in advance for taking time out of your day to answer my questions. -Dominic

I have roughly the same numbers as you, slightly better LSAT (168), slightly lower GPA (3.1). I'm submitting my apps in quite early (by early Nov.). What do you feel gave you the edge to get into a school like Harvard with numbers like these? (I'm assuming race played a factor, but still that can only get you so far).

Hi, I stumbled onto your info on lawschoolnumbers and we have identical stats so far (I take the Oct. LSAT). I wanted to know if you have any advice for me in applying to law school or any materials I can view to get a better idea on what to do and how to market myself. Please contact me at your leisure so that way I can develop a winning strategy for law school. Thanks,
