Hi Ella! Currently I am planning to attend New England Law. I am still waiting to hear back from a couple other schools, but I would like to end up in Boston, so I was happy when I got my acceptance call for New England. Good luck to you as well! Hope you get into New England law, I saw that you've applied to that school as well!
Hey Jenni, Have you thought about UMASS now that it's accredited? If the end goal is to be in Boston, it may be a more affordable way to matriculate into the Boston practice. I just spent the last year with a firm in Boston and a lot of people say if you cant get into BC or higher tier school, its not worth the debt to attend NESL or Suffolk if you are not sure you can get a job in big law with how competitive the Boston market is. Good luck! -Abigail
Hi Abigail, since I am not interested in big law, getting into a higher ranked school with prestige is not really something I am looking for. I know a couple of NESL and Suffolk grads whom have given me some great insight into both schools, so I am happy to go to either of those schools. I looked into UMass, but am probably not going to apply. I potentially have a job set for me in a different state whenever I graduate, but am open to staying in Boston if I happen to find something there. Good luck to you as well!
I have a friend who just graduated from Suffolk last year and she knows alot of people who did end up going into big law even if they were from Suffolk. It all depends- I even know people who are in other tier 1 schools and they're still struggling too. I'm still waiting on NESL. I'll let you know if I get in. :) I did go into the part-time program though since I would like to keep my job for as long as I can. Crossing fingers here! I'll email them today since it seems that you got an answer very quickly.
Congrats on your acceptances! How did you find out about Charleston? Was it mail, email or phone?
Thank you, ald0790. I received a phone call from the Dean and an email following shortly after with the confirmation of my acceptance and scholarship money.
Congrats on your acceptances!! Did your acceptance email come with a scholarship amount? I applied around a month ago and was wondering if I should make sure to always take calls from SC numbers just in case. I've also heard they don't give scholarships higher than 20k/year, which is a bit odd.
Hey Brasml, thank you! My acceptance and scholarship offer came via email and mail. I got a call with my acceptance, and got the email with my scholarship offer a few days later. I don't know what the max amount of scholarship is that the school gives out. If you don't answer the phone, they will leave you a voicemail to call them back.
Will you be attending New England School of Law? Have you tried to apply to Suffolk? Good luck
