Katie, the 27K is per year with half going each semester. Tulsa tuition seems to sit at about 32K per year so essentially it would leave me responsible for 2,500 a semester. Skooliskool, unless I just hate Tech I will be withdrawing my application from Tulsa after my visit. Everything is just falling in line with the Texas school for me, and since I am hoping to practice in Texas I think it will be the best decision for me. That aside, I have heard that most schools can be talked up fairly easily if you show a sincere interest. From Top Law School Forums it looks like the best time to try is when other students start withdrawing their applications and $$ opens back up to be redistributed (so end of Feb or March). April Fox is the dean of admissions over there and I've talked to her a couple times and she seems super nice. I think if you call her and set up an interview/meeting with her at which point you tell her point blank that Tulsa is where you want to go but money is a consideration holding you back and ask nicely if any scholarships that were not accepted have come back for redistribution you may get the full ride. Good luck to you, and I will post again if I end up hating Tech and do go forward with asking Tulsa for more.
Out of curiosity, since you want to practice in Texas, how come you didn't consider the University of Houston Law Center? Just interested to know your thoughts.
Your going to Texas tech with a 169 lsat? WHY!? I would kill for that score
Let me know if you get Tulsa to give you the full ride. I got 27k from them as well but I'm gonna try and see if they'll give me more
