Additional info & updates

Law School Numbers has been a valuable resource for me during my cycle. I wanted to share my personal information in an effort to expand the database for future law school applicants.

The strategy to my Law School application cycle was maximize my chances by targeting part time programs that focused on IP. This was coupled with a desire to stay in the Pacific Northwest. My poor undergrad GPA is my biggest weakness. The LSAT score was average and does not balance out the GPA.

Below are the percentage chances given my numbers by school per Law School Predictor. I have also added the result to date (19Jun2012)

DePaul - 22 percent - Deny
University of New Hamphire - 30 percent - Accept (10k per year)
Houston (PT) - 18 percent - Deny
Oregon - Under 5 percent - Waitlisted, Accept
Lewis and Clark (PT) - 9 percent - Waitlisted, Accept
IIT Kent (PT) - Under 5 percent - Waitlisted
Denver (PT) - 17 percent - Waitlisted
Santa Clara (PT) - 16 percent - Deny
Seattle University (PT) 14 percent - Accept

The data would suggest that I slightly outperformed my numbers. My guess would be that a strong personal statement, work experience, and targeted school selection helped. I think a factor that cannot be overlooked is geography.

It is conjecture on my part but I think my ties to the Pacific Northwest gave me a boost. However with such a small sample size it could have been random chance as well.
