Additional info & updates

4/11: Decided to attend CU Boulder. After some persistence I was offered a 16k Scholarship for first year only with the opportunity for further review the following years. At the beginning of the cycle CU was my reach school I did not think I would get in to, however I was accepted but not initially offered a scholarship. I called and emailed them several times indicated i would definitely attend if I was awarded a scholarship. Towards the end I played them off against Houston since this year they became similarly ranked and that worked out with an offer. I decided on CU because of their strong reputation in environmental law and I would love to live in Colorado, hopefully i made the best choice to suit me. In retrospect i wish I would have aimed a little higher in the cycle but outside of the T14 Colorado is definitely my top choice based on location and specialty so it all worked out, getting in anywhere else would have just been for bragging rights.

4/1: At the beginning of the cycle I was really wanting to go to Lewis & Clark but because of their recent dive in the rankings I am now ruling them out. With the new rankings my only first tier choices are Houston and Boulder.
3/17: I was accepted to all 9 schools I applied to, I kind of wish I would have aimed a little higher but taking region into account I like Colorado the best. I was suprised to get the $90k from Loyola but because of the cost of living in LA it just evens out the price with other schools. I haven't heard anything from Colorado yet about scholarship but I have heard they award them all the way through August so I'm still hoping. Despite not knowing about scholarship I think I am going to be going to Colorado.
3/2: 21k to U of O, $22500 to Houston plus out of state tuition waiver.
3/1: Accepted to CU Boulder. I wasn't sure I would get in here. I'm thinking I may need to put in some apps to a couple higher ranked schools since this was my highest. I;m thinking BC and Notre Dame since I got a fee waivers from them
2/25: Accepted to Santa Clara via status check.
2/21: Received the admissions packet from Lewis & Clark. Got the letter that said they ran out of scholarship money, I guess thats what happens applying late in the cycle. I'm really interested in going there so I am going to try to work something out with them.
2/21: Got the admitted email from Houston today.
2/20: Accepted to Houston via online status check. so far deciding between Houston and L & C will be a hard decision, Still waiting on scholarship info from both.
2/15: Accepted to Lewis & Clark via email. No word on scholarship yet, should be arriving by regular mail shortly. I'm excited because this is one of my top schools so it was good to hear from them first.
1/28: Requested merit based fee waiver and was granted them from all schools except Houston which had an application for it. Then they sent me one through CAS even though I didn't do the application.

Miami Scholarship
Monday, July 02 2012 at 08:00 PM

I received the scholarship via snail mail with my acceptance letter very early in the cycle (see my profile). Miami lowered the GPA stipulation from 3.2 to 3.0 to retain the scholarship for me via e-mail a couple days ago.

Congrats
