Interviews:
-Harvard (S.P.): went pretty badly, I was super nervous
-UChicago (A.W.): I felt good about it, very conversational

Supplemental Essays: (if you don't see it here, I didn't write it)
-Michigan: problems and possibilities of diversity essay
-Stanford: teach a class essay
-Yale 250 (on my thesis)
-Note: In my personal statement, the last paragraph was always a mini "why" essay for each school.

Final Thoughts:
I'm really happy with how my cycle turned out. That being said, I do think applying later and not writing "why" essays (looking at you, Penn) might have hurt some of my apps. If I had applied earlier, I think I might have gotten into UMich, and Columbia might have given me some money. I also wonder if I should have blanketed more. When I started the application cycle, my goal was to only apply to 7 schools, because I didn't want to split my focus too thinly. This led to some panic in the period between my Harvard rejection and Stanford acceptance. It worked out, but now I realize that blanketing can be a good strategy, especially if you're aiming for more money.
