Additional info & updates

1/13: Northwestern application put on hold. Perhaps this is because I declined to interview and didn't write a "why Northwestern" essay. Poop. In at Temple with a full-tuition scholarship, so overall not such a bad day.

1/23: Pretty invitation to attend Georgetown with a personal note from the admissions dean on the bottom of the letter. Very cute.

1/24: In at Columbia. HOLY SHIT. I am really surprised to hear from them before UVA or NYU. Not that I'm complaining...

2/19: Call from UCLA. I love the idea of going to school in southern California, but I wish their rank was a bit higher. It's still exciting to be accepted!

3/4-5: The Columbia admitted students program was really impressive and persuasive...I am planning to withdraw my remaining applications pretty soon.

3/9: Offered a spot on UVA's waitlist, but didn't take it. So far two of the schools that offered me merit fee waivers have rejected me. Maybe this is an example of schools inflating their rankings by offering fee waivers to people they plan to reject...?

4/28: Enrolled at Columbia. Staying on the HLS waitlist for now, I'll probably withdraw if I don't hear anything by mid-June. As much as I love Columbia, it's hard to resist the idea of going to Harvard.
