5/3:
Profile now filled out completely. For thoughts, see my blog post here:

Also relevant: I didn't use the international label, but I am Canadian, going to an American undergrad. I believe my citizenship didn't affect anything.

Additional info & updates

9/29: First acceptance at Duke! Feels great. Wrote a Why Duke.

10/7: complete at Chicago. Most other apps will probably be submitted in the next few days - writing Why X essays. hopefully going to finish it all by mid-Oct.

12/12: Decision letter sent for NYU!

12/20: Grades for new semester are up. Waiting for my transcript to be sent and processed before I update my profile. Hopefully will give me a boost.

1/9: got a weird hold-like email from Mich saying they haven't made a decision yet. Unsure if I should send an LOCI.

1/13: Held at Harvard.

1/13 (later): IN AT CHICAGO! YES! I'm so excited. It's definitely a top choice.

1/28: Got the Columbia envelope! Postmarked 1/25. Before this cycle this was pretty much where I thought I'd end up, but Chicago looks seriously good.

2/3: Got the Michigan acceptance via mail today (letter dated 2/1), which was a nice surprise. I'd pretty much given up on them because it had been so long. Yay!

2/8: Yale :( Popped my rejection cherry.

2/16: Berkeley's continuing the rejection train. Please Stanford, take pity.

3/1: Withdrew from Duke and updated scholarship info.

3/8: NYU scholly: 62.5k or 75k if 2L summer is spent doing public interest. Really pleased!

4/12: KB1 email! Oh my god.

4/15: Deposited at Chicago. Withdrawn from all but Columbia, Harvard, and Stanford. Columbia only because I'm paranoid that my check will get lost in the mail and I'll lose my spot at Chicago while getting rejected from the other two.

Ultimately chose Chicago over Columbia because I loved it when I visited, am not a fan of NYC, and the aid was pretty much equal, esp. taking into account cost of living. Nevertheless, hoping for a great interview and an H acceptance in the next couple weeks.

4/18: IN AT HARVARD! Just got the call! Lsdkjfdkjf!

Withdrew from Columbia. Will from Chicago too when I manage to figure out how to word the email...

[Later]: Withdrawn from Chicago. I feel bad. In any case, they're probably keeping my deposit, so they're not any worse off!

4/26: DLS at Stanford and no response when I called, so I'm just going to put reject there. Deposit going in the mail for Harvard tomorrow! This is the end!

[edit: waitlisted when I called 4/27]

5/3: I guess it's not completely the end. Will be riding the Stanford waitlist until the end; it's my absolute first choice for personal reasons.
