Additional info & updates

As my cycle draws to a close I would like to encourage all prospective applicants to apply as early as possible (i.e. September/October). I feel like applying in January really hurt my chances, as you can see from my many waitlists (It seems like UVA at least had already filled most of its class by then). Also, it seems like this cycle was particularly tough on K-JDs so if you can, I would suggest taking at least a year off and getting some work experience. Finally, never be afraid to negotiate scholarships. The worst they can say is no, and I'm fortunate enough that I had multiple scholarships I used to leverage offers at other schools. For the most part, if a school accepted you and especially if they gave you a scholarship to begin with, they want you to be part of their class. If there's anything I learned from here and TLS, maximize your scholarship; you don't want to be "polite" and end up paying 30k more when you could have gotten that money with one email. Also retake. This site has been immensely helpful to me and I hope everyone who sees this will learn from my mistakes and do better!
