Additional info & updates

Nov. 20: E-mail from Duke saying I'm in, exactly 10 days after it was complete like the priority track thing said.

Dec. 4: Small Georgetown acceptance envelope with short personalized message from Dean.

Dec. 6: Big U.S. mail package from Vanderbilt. My suspicions were correct that it was a giant acceptance package rather than rejection...

Dec 15: Phone call of acceptance from Texas. Caller was nice but I didn't feel great about it and I was hoping a mention of scholarship $.

Dec 20: Acceptance letter from Wake Forest. Means little at this point. It worked out stangely that my fall-back schools were the last to get back to me.

Jan 16: Acceptance from Pepperdine with my first scholarship offer of 38k each year if I stay in top 3rd of the class. Being interested in dispute resolution, this makes me seriously consider Malibu.

Feb 20: E-mail from Virginia asking me to call. Pleasantly surprised with offer of admission.

Feb 28: Envelope with Oregon admission and offer of $2000.00.00 scholarship. Is that a real number?

Mar 7: Vandy Scholarship. 20k /year.

Mar 20: Scholarship from Duke arrives while I'm at their ASD, $18k /year. Not bad, and it actually makes Duke cheaper to attend based on Vandy's COA.

March 27: Scholarship from Virginia arrives while I'm at THEIR ASD. Why do the schools keep doing this? $10k /year.

(all scholarships were snail mail)

--In between: Lots of Withdrawals as I narrow my choices down to UT, UVa, and Duke--

April 15: Waitlist e-mail from Harvard. Pretty exciting. I almost forgot about you Harvard! It was nice they decided to let me down gently without an actual rejection. I guess if California finally breaks off into the Pacific, I'm going to Harvard.
