Additional info & updates

4/13 - Sorry for the lack of updates... in at USC, but no cash from them. Sorry guys, just too damn expensive. Visited both ND and LMU - was blown away by ND, and underwhelmed by LMU.

At this point, I'm about 90 percent sure I'm going to ND.

2/24/09 - Waitlisted at GW. Most likely will withdraw to make room for others.

2/20/09 - Little envelope from Vandy. S'all good, didn't want to go there anyway.

2/13/09 - Status checker at Vandy gives a decision date of 2/16. Wonder what they'll say.

2/9/09 - In at Columbia!!!! Psych. So again, no surprise here. Small envelope to break the expected news. Their loss. Not mine :)

2/7/09 - In at Notre Dame! Small envelope. I was all, "Oh well," but then I opened it up and found a very nice acceptance letter with a hand written note. 45k scholarship over 3 years.

1/30/09 - No go at Berkeley. Shocker.

1/15/09 - In at Quinnipiac. Nice to be accepted, but I doubt I will be attending here. I might be swayed by a full-ride, but at this point I'm more interested in my higher choices (which includes LMU).

1/5/09 - Complete at USC finally.

1/5/09 - Just noticed that a "FEES" section was added to my Berkeley account. Still haven't heard anything, and it probably doesn't mean anything, but I'm still crossing my fingers :)

12/27 - Accepted at LMU. Just got back from visiting my parents. Was out the whole week so I have no idea when it actually arrived. Scholarship is for 3 years. Pretty excited because I was hoping to stay in the LA area, and this is certainly good incentive.

12/19 - UNDER REVIEW at Berkeley via E-mail

12/19 - Complete at Cardozo.

12/19 - Complete at Columbia

12/15 - Complete at Notre Dame.

12/12 - Complete at Vandy.

12/11 - Complete at Berkeley via online status check.

12/11 - Complete at W&M via E-mail.

12/9 - All Applications fully submitted! There's a couple more that I might do which I have fee waivers for, but finishing the applications is not really a major concern at the moment. Time to just sit back and wait and try not to get too anxious.

D. Statement

We have super similar numbers, and a couple of overlapping schools. Are you writing a diversity statement for your applications?

Monday, June 16 2008 at 08:00 PM

MaybeMaybeYes - The statement I'm writing for my applications might vary depending on the school's requirements, but mostly I'm addressing why I want to return to school and pursue a career in law. That said probably discuss the diversity that I'll bring to the school through my mult-cultural upbringing.

Hey, are you being sarcastic or serious when you say "shocker" about having been rejected at UC Berkeley?

sarcastic, of course.

Sorry

Hey, I just re-read what I wrote...I sound so rude, I did not intend to come off like that. Anyway, good luck with this cycle, but I'm sure you'll be more than fine!
