1/6/16: In at Miami

Saw Miami admittance via online app status checker 1/6/16 - that was quick. No word on scholarship money yet. I'm guessing I just hit the sweet spot for their auto admit algorithm. Good to know I'll at least have somewhere to go next fall if all else fails, I was having (unreasonable) agita that I wouldn't get in anywhere. I'll update with scholarship figgies if and when they make an offer.

1/13/16 In at Cardozo w big Scholarship

Got a call from Cardozo about ten minutes ago offering admission and a $126,000 total ($42,000/year) scholarship. Hoo boy. Number one choice and big money. I'm very happy right now.

1/14/16: Admitted to NYLs w Scholarship

And that's about all I have to say about that. One of my scholarship negotiation leverage bargaining chip schools. Not really an ideal fallback point if all else fails. Wondering about scholarship figures - I will call and update. They said a letter is in the mail. 2014-2015 scholarships for statistically similar applicants not promising but who knows, it's a different cycle. Applications seem to be down so we'll see.

1/21/16 Waitlisted at Iowa, in at Seton Hall.

Accepted at Seton Hall via status checker. Scholarship figures unknown. I'll probably know more when I receive my letter. If not, I'll call and ask when they make their determination. Good news if I got a big scholarship. Otherwise, meh.

2/2/16 Updates

Seton Hall offer was 25k/yr conditional - amounts to less than 50% of yearly tuition. Meh. NYLS scholarship amounts to 40k/yr, conditional.

In at Brooklyn w 30k/yr conditional, Rutgers w 24k/yr conditional, Vermont Law w 40k/yr conditional and Loyola (LA) w 55k spread out over all three years. Still waiting on Florida and Pepperdine.

3/21/16: Updates

Hard rejection from Pepperdine, mid-march. Unexpected but not that upset about it. Still waitlisted at Iowa. Should probably withdraw. Negotiated scholarship with Cardozo; sent them an email last week, heard back today - upped total package by 3k/yr, 135k cumulative. Great news but I'm going to ask one more time if they can give me anything additional. Will update if/when I hear back, but even if I don't this is a great scholarship. The dean I emailed with seemed very excited to have me more or less on board and remembered my application by name. Stands to reason they'd give me more money but you never know.

Still waiting to hear from Florida, kind of curious about the hold status they have me in - seems like kind of a soft waitlist. And no scholarship from Miami, I presume. Also weird. I'm not paying sticker there. I'll give them a call and ask.

3/22/16: No scholarship at Miami. Cardozo refused to up scholarship further.
