02/13 - Accepted to USC Gould School of Law via email! Scholarship information will be forthcoming in the following days and weeks!

02/14 - WOW! USC just offered $40k / year for all 3 years with no contingencies!

02/14 - Made it to Final Review 2nd Round at Berkeley

03/04 - Accepted to UCLA Law via phone call and email! Scholarship info should be made available soon.

03/05 - Just got the initial scholarship offer from UCLA and (like USC) it is sizable ($30k / year x 3 years)! Will try to negotiate for more however.

03/08 - Rejected from Berkeley out of Final Review 2 via email. Really bummed about this :(

03/10 - UVA just sent me a fee waiver. Wasn't planning on applying there but thanks to the fee waiver, I've shot an app off to them. I need something to ease the pain of Berkeley's rejection. Anything!

03/12 - Just got into Duke's JD/LLMLE program via email! Awesome! Will need to file separate scholarship form before merit aid is determined.

03/15 - Accepted to UC Irvine via snail mail with $40k / year scholarship renewable for duration of law school.

03/25 - Duke made a scholarship offer of $22.5k / year ($67.5k total) plus the JD/LLM program I got into is being offered on the house now. Sweet :)

04/04 - Lots of movement today: Rejected from Penn, which sort of surprised me. I'm right in the medians and I spent a lot of time on my application and talking about why I really see myself there. Oh well! Also: waitlisted at UVA (and I'm withdrawing, that was a pointless application anyway). Lastly: Georgetown wants a group interview next week here in LA. Interesting. Really Georgetown, an interview? Weird.

04/09 - Rejected from NYU today, not really bummed. Cost of living in New York is crazy expensive anyway. The options are narrowing down!

04/10 - Deposited at Duke! I'm withdrawing from all the schools I'm currently admitted to (per Duke's enrollment contract), so I've kissed all my hometown schools goodbye! I can't believe this day has come but... I'm turning down UCLA, USC, and UCI! There's still 6 schools in play. We'll see how this turns out.

04/12 - Waitlisted at Michigan. I'm not thrilled about the news but I have a ton of faith. I will do all that I can to get off the waitlist here.

04/16 - Rejected from Yale today. In light of the news this past few weeks, I can't help but think I'm underperforming my numbers because I applied so late. I expected a lot more waitlists at the top end and definitely acceptances to Michigan and even Penn, where my numbers are right at the medians. I'm flying out to Michigan tomorrow to check out the school and charm the admissions committee.

04/17 - En route to Michigan right now, just got the email from Columbia placing me on the Reserve list. Interesting...

04/19 - Just got an email from Georgetown saying my acceptance materials will be delivered via snail mail! Finally, some good news! Scholarship information is forthcoming next week. Met with Michigan Admissions today and let them know I'm operating on a very short timeline with my Duke summer start pending in a month or so. They took note and said the best they can do is just a few days after April 30. Things are getting so tight! I'm putting down a deposit on an apartment in Durham today. I need to have that backup option secure. Still waiting on Harvard and Stanford to reject me. Any day now!

04/26 - Finally! Rejected from Harvard! Only Stanford left to go!

05/01 - Rejected at Stanford and officially withdrew from Georgetown. That closes out my cycle in terms of hard acceptances and rejections. I'm currently set to start at Duke on May 30, with Reserve status at Columbia and waitlisted at Michigan. Duke's tuition is due May 12. If Michigan doesn't get back to me by then, I'll have to withdraw.

05/08 - Wow! Just got the call from Dean Z!! I'm accepted to Michigan's summer start off the waitlist and they're matching my Duke scholarship! I have some thinking to do here in the final hour!

05/09 - I can't deny my love for Michigan! I decided to accept my offer there and formally withdraw from Duke! Ann Arbor here I come! Can't wait to start at Hogwarts!

06/14 - Columbia has rolled me into the next batch of Reserve candidates. Should hear back in several weeks.

07/08 - Columbia wants to schedule a phone interview! Wow. That was unexpected. This can only be a good sign.

07/10 - Had a short phone interview with Columbia today. Thought it went well. They'll let me know in a week, in which I'll have less than 48 hours to decide to attend. Exciting stuff!

07/25 - Finally heard back from Columbia again. I've been rolled into their third (and presumably final) reserve list.

And that wraps up my cycle! Overall pretty decent. Had I applied sooner, I'd probably rack up a few more waitlists in the T6 range, but that's about it. And if this were a few years ago, I definitely wouldn't have seen the generous scholarship offers I had this year.
