my secret unconfirmed fantasy is that the whole "out of state residents are discouraged" schtick is just a hollow threat to weed out californians. we'll have to see. i sent an addendum to hawaii a couple of weeks after my personal statement citing every POSSIBLE reason that hawaii would be a great school for me. i mentioned stuff like a joint degree program i am interested in, connections i have to laie (on the other side of the island), etc. of course, the main attraction (which i never admitted to them) is the warm water. but they probably already know that. best of luck to you!
So Hawaii is your number one choice too!? Are you just dying for the verdict? You're in better shape than I am, I am so nervous about the "mainlander standard."
