Additional info & updates

I decided to create a profile, because this site really helped me when it came to decide which law schools to apply to, and I thought, since I applied to so many, others would benefit from all of the research and effort I put in.

I would like to say that I visited all of the midwest schools on the list and I highly recommend that students do this, especially if they have borderline grades. Meeting the deans at the schools helped me standout as someone who will take initiative and knows how to handle myself with important people. Not only that, it proved that I really want this and gave me a chance to explain any discrepancies in my numbers. For example, my UGPA is not as high as it could have been because I started a company my freshman year; a fact which I casually introduced into conversations I had during my visits. My undergrad grades are also probably offset by the fact that I am now finishing my Master's degree in Public Administration and have a 3.6 gpa.

My back story is a traumatic one: I was an honors student who was forced out of high school due to a bullying/harassment situation. I did not mention this during my visits; I saved it for my personal statement, which I believe also added a dimension to my infinitely optimistic personality and further demonstrated my drive to succeed.

For those of you who do not know what your grades and LSAT score can afford you, I hope my profile will help you determine where you should apply.

Good Luck and Best Wishes!
