Additional info & updates

*All of the scholarship offers except for Howard are over three year periods.*

*Howard's scholarship is only guaranteed for the first year. Renewal for subsequent years is contingent on class standing. *

*Texas' offer is on top of in-state tuition. So it's actually more like $120,000 if you consider the resident's discount.*

12/08/2014 Just got a call from Dean McGahee! In at Howard!!!

01/05/2015 Request for a Georgetown interview.

01/06/2015 Voicemail from Texas...I'm in there!!!!

01/19/2015 Fedex pkg from Emory w/ a nice hand written note on the scholarship offer.

01/20/2015 GW status checker says, "Decision made 01/16."

01/21/2015 In at GW via email. No scholarship info yet.

01/24/2015 Reserved at Cornell. I expected Cornell to be an auto-rejection, so this is a surprise.

01/28/2015 In at SMU via snail mail.

01/30/2015 GW offer via email.

01/30/2015 Email from Georgetown alumnus to schedule an interview.

02/02/2014 Georgetown alumni interview. Now I just wait.

02/10/2014 Call from Dean McGahee to ask if I had any questions.

02/11/2014 I was able to create a Georgetown ASW account!! No letter yet. Hopefully in the next few days.

02/12/2014 Call from SMU BLSA President to congratulate me on my admissions.

02/13/2014 In at GULC via snail mail!!! With a nice hand written note from Dean Cornblatt.

03/10/2014 Last week a UT UMR alum reached out to me. We chated over the phone for about an hour. I told her that I was interested in Texas, but a bit concerned about the price. Today I got a phone call from Dean Ingram raising my scholarship from $5,000/yr to $20,000/yr. That coupled with in-state tuition makes Texas very attractive!

3/20/2015 In at American via email.

3/25/2015 I visited Georgetown and GW. I loved Georgetown, but GW was a huge turnoff. I made sure to emphasize that I needed money at both schools. Georgetown said that they'll see what they can do, and GW won't negotiate until after the deposit deadline.

4/1/2015 I withdrew from American, SMU, GW, and Howard.

4/7/2015 I received an email offer from Georgetown today. I have until the 15th to accept the offer.

5/7/2015 I asked that Georgetown reconsider my award this morning. I received an increased offer this afternoon. The original award was 75k.

5/8/2015 I withdrew my Texas application. I'm going to Georgetown!

Congrats on your success! Any info on your approach to such a stellar LSAT score? Was this close to your initial timed diagnostic?

Do you mind sharing how you prepared for the LSAT? Congratulations!

My first diag was 155. I pretty much completed every released LSAT under timed conditions. I did some of the twice. I used a spreadsheet to track what types of questions I answered incorrectly, and I focused on improving those question types. I took a commercial course towards the beginning of my studies, but that only moved me a few points. You can find everything you need to study on your own online.
