*Scholarship amounts are per year
11/28/11: Officially done with my applications! Excited for the waiting to begin.
12/1/11: In at Depaul! Notified by email. Letter with info about any scholarship should arrive "within two weeks." Feels amazing to know that I'll be going to law school next year!
12/7/11: In at Rutgers by email! Separate email told me I'm being offered a $12,000/year scholly renewable all three years so long as I maintain a 3.0.
12/8/11: In at Elon by email. Probably not going to be considering it though unless it comes nearly free. Official letter coming. DePaul letter came with an offer of $25k per year (with maintenance of a 3.2).
12/10/11: Depaul sent me a t-shirt. Size large when I wear a small but still appreciated
12/12/11: Elon scholarship info came in an email. $25k/year with no stipulations for renewal.
12/15/11: Currently in review at PSU, Pitt, and Louisville. Anxious to hear back from them soon!
12/19/11: In at Penn State via email/status checker! Didn't expect that so soon for sure. Curious to see if I'll get any money
12/22/11: Sent in a new transcript to LSAC with latest grades. Had a good semester that pushed me from 2.93 to 3.05 so for the schools where I'm not yet in review, maybe that will give me some help. Assuming decisions are done until after the holidays. Really happy with the cycle so far
1/4/2012: First acceptance of the new year! In at MSU with scholarship via status checker. I missed the phone call the day before, and my phone didn't tell me they left a voicemail but they did.
1/12/2012: Big mail day today. Accepted as South Carolina via small white envelope. Offered in state tuition which amounts to about $18,800. Also got my official PSU and MSU letter. PSU came with $10,000 per year and MSU came with 25% off of tuition.
1/13/2012: Accepted at Louisville via email/status checker. No word on money yet. Got a nice travel mug in the mail from Elon
1/17/2012: Accepted at Syracuse by mail. Came with a t-shirt and bumper sticker. Scholly info won't be sent til February
1/26/2012: I'm trying to be patient with Richmond and Pitt, but I just wish they'd make a decision! I've been in review at Pitt since Dec 7th, so we're coming up on the 2 month mark, which is really agonizing. I haven't heard a thing from Richmond other than that they got my application back in December.
1/27/2012: In at Pitt via status checker...finally! Letter with any money info is in the mail
2/27/2012: A solid month without updates, but last Friday (2/24) I called Syracuse's office to ask about scholarship money since they said that info would be released in February, and found out that they are offering a Dean's Scholarship for $27k with only a 2.8 requirement. This is really really tempting.
At this point in the decisions process, I am fairly certain it will either be Pitt or Syracuse. I'm waiting to hear whether my significant other of five years gets into Pitt. We're visiting SU next week.
I decided that while I love MSU and DePal on paper, they are just too far from home (VA). Elon was a safety, and so that's out. Between SU and Rutgers, I like SU better. I visited Louisville and didn't like it. I don't think I'm ever hearing back from Richmond. Really liked PSU, but significant other didn't get accepted there. South Carolina is still sort of an option, but I'm not sure about it.
What time did Elon send you an e-mail? I applied forever ago and am still waiting for a response.
- cjhilmanCjhilman, I got the email at 3:20pm. Subject line "Elon University School of Law - Congratulations!" Also, just fyi, my status checker for Elon never said "Under Review" or anything like that. Just went from "Complete" this morning to "Decision rendered" when I looked at it after I got the email.
- rustyyodaSince our scores are sorta close I am going to shadow you. :) Good luck!
- h2oplyer7How long did it take LSAC to process your updated transcript? I sent one in about 2 weeks ago and they haven't yet updated anything. Good luck on the rest of your cycle and congrats on the DePaul scholarship!
- StefyheadIt hasn't been processed yet, since LSAC has been closed since Christmas. They reopen tomorrow. So even if your registrar office sent it two weeks ago (which they may not have, because they may have been on vacation as well), no one was at LSAC to get it. I'd give it another two weeks at least before panicking.
- rustyyodaI am a junior and have only taken a practice test, but I got 167 and have a similar gpa as you. My first choice is Syracuse, so this is good to see :) Congrats!!
