Additional info & updates

Two LSAT scores, big jump in round two (Which is the reason for the wide range of schools. I applied to one set with the lower LSAT and then set my sights higher when the second score came in).

Scholarship amounts are for three years

I applied somewhat late in the cycle. I had to wait on my December LSAT. My cycle turned out fine, but I think it definitely helps to apply early. If nothing else, you'll have a better chance to avoid yield protection if you have high numbers.

IN at NYU -- that one felt awesome. My first (hopefully not the last?) T-6 acceptance. NYU is a really great fit, love the Lower Manhattan location and I'm interested in public interest law.

Full tuition scholarship at Minnesota! With fees and living expenses, I'd still have to borrow ~$60k over 3 years. Still, a really generous offer.

2/18 -- IN at Northwestern. First really big news since NYU almost a month ago. I like that Northwestern requires work experience and isn't all 22-year-olds. Plus, my girlfriend went there for undergrad.

2/26 -- Waitlist at Michigan. Alas.

Waitlisted at Virginia, along with the rest of the civilized world, and "held" at Columbia.

3/29 -- Just got the e-mail that I'm a semifinalist for the OSU Moritz Meritz Scholarship, which is full tuition plus $5,000 stipend. Interview next week.

3/30 -- Dinged at Harvard. Thought I might get a waitlist. Oh well.

4/2 -- Waitlist at Chicago. Ouch. Tough year. For now, I'm staying on Chicago and Michigan waitlists.

4/31 -- Georgetown came through with a generous $90,000 scholarship. Deciding between that and NYU Monday.

5/3 -- Georgetown! Tough call between that and NYU sticker. But, since I'm interested in the DC market primarily, I am willing to trade the relatively marginal differences in prestige and job placement for half the debt.

Hey, just figured I'd check out your stats... congrats on the $$$s... I expect COL to be lower at W&M than NE. Might make up the scholarship difference... also doesn't look like the late apps have been hurting you too badly, so far!
