im leaning against UMD and towards OSU. as a MD native who moved back to DC after college, it just isnt that exciting of a prospect. Also, while many people want to work in DC, since i've lived here for the majority of my life i'd prefer to work somewhere else i think. but what i'm reealllyyy hoping is that W&M takes me off their waitlist....slim chance but u never know aminah r u on the preferred waitlist?

i'm aware that UMD is a stickler for gpa, and that mine is not all that good. things that helped me: 3 yrs work experience, including 2 for a Maryland Congressman (also received rec. from MD congressman) good lsat for UMD i have a family friend with an extremely strong connection to the law school.

Thanks for the comment...I have decided on Alabama, like you I was also very impressed when I visited. As far as being stuck in The South, I wouldn't worry about it too much; Bama has a good reputation and as long as you are willing to put some leg work in, I imagine you should be able to find a job whereever you want to practice. Let me know if you will be joining me at Alabama in the fall.

Bama

Saw your post on TempDog's page about being worried about the south. I'm from PA and fully intend to use my Bama degree to job hunt in the mid-Atlantic. That school is completely on the rise. Even if I can't get into a PA firm immediately, I know I have an excellent shot at a firm in Birmingham and then going to PA with 2-3 years or a good clerkship under my belt.
