Additional info & updates

Reminder that if you haven't received an email confirming that your application has been designated as complete, check your other emails to see if the school gave you an online status check login/password. For several schools I had to check via that portal as I never received an email.

1/4/19 -- Invited to interview in person at Georgetown, could not get out of work to go during the provided timeslots. Asked to reschedule and was given a "We'll let you know." Gulp.

1/14/19 -- Interviewed with Cornell by video. Was not live, but questions were combination of video recorded and written. 5 minutes to respond to written, 30 seconds to prep and 1 minute to respond for video. Mostly standard questions, some very odd questions, some personal questions. Use their practice questions at least 3 times is my recommendation, and be ready for anything.

1/17/19 -- Invited again for an interview at Georgetown, scheduled for MLK day. Accepted.

1/21/19 -- Group interview of 12 people at Georgetown. Format was enjoyable. Decision expected within 3 weeks.

1/22/19 -- Went UR2 at Penn Law.

2/6/19 -- Received acceptance letter from Georgetown, letter was dated 1/30.

2/12/19 -- Rejected by Yale via email.

2/14/19 -- Invited to do casual phone interview with UVA, scheduled for 2/19.

2/17/19 -- Went UR2 at NYU.

2/19/19 -- Interviewed with Cordel Faulk, offered acceptance at the end of the call. Official package will be mailed out and dated 2/20/19.

2/21/19 -- Received an email from NYU: "the Committee currently is unable to reach a final decision on your file." Will hear back by the end of April.

2/25/19 -- Accepted into Cornell via phone call.

3/7/19 -- Waitlisted at Penn Law. Promptly withdrew my application. Good luck to those who are in it for the long haul!

3/12/19 -- Rejected by Harvard via email and online status checker update.

3/29/19 -- Rejected by Columbia via letter dated 3/27. UVA called and increased scholarship from $35k/yr to $45k/yr.

4/8/19 -- Emailed Cornell asking for an increase in scholarship money based on UVA scholarship. Emailed Georgetown for any scholarship based on both.

4/9/19 -- Cornell raised scholarship to $48k/yr, final. UVA offer is final. Georgetown "noted my interest in my file."

4/16/19 -- Georgetown declined to offer any merit scholarship. Promptly withdrew from Georgetown, Cornell (deadline had passed already anyway), and NYU (application still pending as of my writing this.

Decision: UVA Law!
