Rec letters were from 1 law professor, dean of my program, and mentor during oil&gas internship (all had law degrees--try to get professors who can talk about your academic skills or people who have gone to law school and know what admissions committees are looking for)

Additional info & updates

Took October LSAT and December LSAT.

All scholarships are for 3 years total. Most with GPA stipulations.

Update--accepted into Baylor's joint degree JD/MBA program. For most schools, you must be admitted into the law school and business school separately. That means an LSAT, law school app, GMAT/GRE, MBA app, and an interview. My advice is to start early if you are considering this! I'm hoping it will help me move to in-house counsel or assist me in pursuing other business opportunities.

While my resume was "strong," I did not have any legal internships/experiences. I decided I wanted to go to law school at the end of my junior year of undergrad--I happened to enjoy some of my law classes and applying was very unexpected/not in my original plan. If you have time, I would suggest trying to get some sort of legal or paralegal experience to boost your application. I believe I got lucky because I had strong grades and am interested in a niche area. A 3.68 for my major is pretty good, but in law school admissions world, that's "average" for law school apps...keep your grades up because admissions committees don't care if your GPA is lower because your major was "harder" than others'. I think some sort of legal internship or project like that would have definitely boosted my odds at some schools/increased scholarship offers!

Best of luck.
