Extra Curricular Information

Good softs, not spectacular. 2 years WE in a government IT office, and co-founded a successful 501(c)3 arts organization.

3 LORs, two academic and one professional, at least one of which I believe will be very strong.

A couple of theater-related internships in my former life. Not expecting these to make a difference here, but I can cast a play and build a set!

Multilingual - Spanish, German, a little Russian

Additional info & updates

1/15 - In at Duke via email!

1/27 - A few more complete, but nothing else. Not that I expected there to be yet. To pass the time, I ran my numbers through LSP:

WEAK CONSIDER
Harvard (35%)

CONSIDER
Columbia (60%)
NYU (60%)

STRONG CONSIDER
Chicago (70%)
Penn (74%)
Berkeley (66%)
Northwestern (74%)

ADMIT
Michigan (92%)
UVA (77%)
Duke (80%)
Cornell (>95%)
Georgetown (86%)
UCLA (95%)
Vanderbilt (87%)
WUSTL (>95%)

Overall, I fare better here than I expected to (and than I expect I will in real life). This doesn't factor in multiple LSATs though, or the fact that I applied late in the cycle. But hey, I can dream.

2/1 - In via voicemail at NYU! Got nervous when the caller introduced herself, thinking they were calling about a missing component or something. Then almost ran a lap around the courtyard at the building where I work. I'm amazed at how quickly that one turned around. (Though I have heard anecdotally that they do decisions quicker than others.)

2/3 - In at WUSTL via email. It's been a very good week. Another quick turnaround, too. I've been nervous about submitting as late as I did, and it will still probably be to my detriment on other apps, but I can rest a little easier now.

2/9 - Chicago under review.

2/14 - At long last, complete at Columbia. Hope completion being this late in the cycle doesn't hurt my chances TOO much.

2/15 - Complete at Michigan, and in at Vanderbilt via postal mail.

2/16 - In at Georgetown, dinged at Berkeley. The pace is picking up.

3/1 - Complete at Harvard, though it's been listed as "Under Review" for more than a week for some reason. Frankly, I'm surprised and flattered that I'm still under consideration.

3/12 - Waitlisted at UVA.

3/14 - Waitlisted at Chicago. Three hours later, accepted at Northwestern. Mixed news from the Windy City.

3/21 - Waitlisted at UCLA.

3/23 - Held at Columbia.

3/25 - Waitlisted at Michigan. It's presumptuous of me to assume that it's the reason, or even part of the reason, but I am kicking myself ever so gently for applying as late as I did.

4/2 - Waitlisted at Penn.

4/19 - On reserve at Columbia.

4/23 - Rejected by Harvard. Not the biggest surprise.

5/30 - In at Chicago off the waitlist!

6/4 - ...and they've offered me some money. Did not expect this.
