Additional info & updates

2/29
$30,000 from Chicago via email! About what I had expected based on other awards. Heavy favorite now.

2/23
Scholarship season! A sizable merit-scholarship from Duke, $75,000! With need-based perhaps to follow, a near full-ride might be tempting.

2/22
I sent LOCIs for Harvard, Columbia, and Stanford to those schools this week, and I'm hoping for good news when UChicago and NYU roll out their scholarships.

2/9
Reserve/WL'd at Columbia. A bitter disappointment since it's essentially a soft rejection from my top choice, but I'm going to wait it out and hope.

2/7
I've withdrawn from UCLA and Virginia. Neither offered the significant scholarship funds it would have taken to get me to go there, so I gave my spot to someone who could use it. I've begun to negotiate scholarships at Georgetown and Texas.

1/19
Waitlisted at Virginia. Clear yield protection move, but I don't really blame them.

1/14
Notified of my acceptance to Chicago today via email!!! I'm not shocked, but it is incredible news! I visited last year, and it may now be my top choice school. We'll see when all scholarship information is released later in the spring.

1/9
Held by Harvard. I'm grateful for the honor and will do what I can to improve my chances. It appears the hold group is drawn from a larger crowd this year.

12/15
Not sure if I somehow missed this, but Michigan has offered me a $54,000 scholarship (as seen on their Adm. Students Website)! Great not only for my chances of going there but also for aid-matching schemes at other schools.

12/12
After a difficult month-long wait, two huge acceptances on Monday: Berkeley (by email) and NYU (via ASW)! I had been spending too much time on TLS. Relief.

11/9
Notified by Ma that Dean Short from UCLA called to grant acceptance! Hoping for some serious scholarship $$$ to try to tempt me out west.

11/2
First true heart-pulsing moment in this process as I'm admitted to Michigan (via ASW)!!! Other acceptances so far have been great, but UM has been quickly rising on my list of ideal destinations. It's such a wonderful school! Excited for what this potentially means for other applications too!

10/31
I've been accepted to Texas with a Dean's Scholarship! Though I'm looking out-of-state, it's a fantastic school and much more affordable than most of my other options.

10/23
Finally hear back from another school and funny enough, it's my most recent application Georgetown. Accepted!

10/1
Submitted Georgetown RD, probably my last application. Now begins the long wait..

9/30
Acceptance from Duke! Priority Track made me wait the full 10 days, but it's great to have one in my pocket going into the rest of this cycle and the October gap.

9/29
Submitted Columbia RD (tried to hold out for fee waiver, but decided it was better to get app in early)

9/20
Submitted Harvard and Stanford (after countless checks and re-edits of application files)

9/17
Submitted NYU RD (wasn't going to initially, but fee-waiver tempted me)

9/15
Submitted Berkeley, Duke, Michigan, Texas , and UCLA applications (all RD except for Texas)

9/7
Submitted Chicago and Virginia RD applications

Took my LSAT several administrations ago, so I requested fee waivers from most of the schools for which I was eventually granted one. Only wrote a Why Michigan and Why Columbia (valid reason for the latter).

I'm spending a year abroad volunteering, so most of my notifications will come via email and Skype calls from home.
