ADDITIONAL INFO & UPDATES

12/14/09
Deferred today via snail mail @ Columbia. Not a huge surprise, and better than a rejection. Perhaps they sensed my secret love for Michigan?

1/14/10
Out @ Penn, Out @ Mich.

1/20/10
Accepted to UNLV today, but no finaid info yet. Good to have one acceptance already, but not particularly surprising.

1/22/10
UNLV finaid info received in the packed. Full resident tuition, renewable each year provided I remain in the top 1/3rd of my class. Good deal.

2/5/10
Placed on reserve at Cornell and out @ UVA and Berkeley this week.

2/16/10
In @ USC, no word on $$.

2/19/10
Out @ Duke. I expected it at this point, and so it doesn't sting too bad.

I bet you could get UNLV to change the 1/3 requirement if you get some leverage from another school. you should try it. maybe have it moved to top 1/2 or no restriction.

No such luck. I asked, but it seems to be their policy not to change it. Oh well, they've been very nice otherwise.

Congratulations on UNLV! Just curious, what made you choose UNLV over USC? Would you prefer to be in California over Nevada?
