EXTREME upward trender
Financial obligation to Ohio State, my first college, for non-deferrable loan I can't repay because I'm trying to go to law school so I can actually pay off my debts. Catch-22 anyone? So, schools don't get that transcript. I addressed this in my addendum.

Additional info & updates

2/16: Admissions counselor from Wake Forest calls, wanting to know if I can convince OSU to send that transcript. I tell her the truth: I've tried everything already and they won't send it. She says she likes my application and will get back to me next week. Sigh...

2/16: Acceptance letter from Michigan! And the icing on the cake: a handwritten note from Sarah Zearfoss saying my personal statement was "TERRIFIC!" WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Hopefully they give me a good financial aid package I can either (1) take, or (2) use to leverage Duke into giving me some cash.

2/27: Two envelopes from Michigan, the only school that seems to have seen any merit in my application so far. Fortunately for me, they seem to see a LOT of merit and decided to offer me the Dean's Scholarship of $18,000 a year or $54,000 overall. Sarah Z. must have REALLY liked that personal statement. At this point only a matching or better offer from Duke or admittance to Yale would trump Michigan. I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

3/5: Sigh. Waitlisted at Duke, my dream school. I really wanted to try living in a place not immersed in snow from December-February, but looks like Duke's out of the picture now.

3/10: Waitlisted at Vanderbilt, hmmm...good thing I got that acceptance from Michigan early or I would be severely disappointed right now.
